JACOUTOT ROOM

Coach Jacoutot, after 28 years of teaching and administrative responsibilities, is retiring from teaching - so he can focus his attention on coaching wrestling full time.

He will remain as the Spencerport Wresting Head Coach indefinitely.

SPENCERPORT NYS LARGE SCHOOL CHAMPIONS

The Rangers were officially recognized as the NYS Large Schools Dual Meet Champions for the third consecutive year.

The Rangers completed their dual meet season with an 18-0 record and the all important first place finish as the Union Endicott Duals. They were crowned tournament champions at the Jamestown, Teike-Bernabi, Hilton, Monroe County and the Section V Class AA Tournament.

2009 SECTION V CLASS AA CHAMPIONS

The Rangers won the Section V Class AA Tournament, outdistancing second place Penfield 325 to 201.

The Rangers will send 17 wrestlers to the NYS Qualifier: Geoff Brown (1st-96), Zach Haas (1st-130), Paul Morabito (1st-145), Nick Baxter (1st-189), Paul Glover (1st-215), Enzo Zagari (1st-285), Mike Piedimonte (2nd-112), Stephen Maier (2nd- 125), Tim Campbell (2nd-140), Joe Inzana (2nd-152), Brad Englert (2nd-189), Scott Barrett (3rd-103), JP Hayden (3rd-119), Roy Daniels (3rd-135), Walt Roman (3rd-171), Dan DelDuca (4th-160) and John Troina (5th-160).

Also Paul Glover was named the 145lb-285lb MOW for the tournament and Coach Bill Jacoutot was named the 2009 Class AA Coach of the Year. [Read More...]

2009 MONROE COUNTY TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS

The Rangers won the Monroe County Tournament, outdistancing second place Penfield 264.5-163.

The Rangers finished with seven finalists and five champions. Winning individual titles were Geoff Brown (96), Tim Campbell (140), Paul Morabito (145), Nick Baxter (171) and Paul Glover (215). Runners up included Steve Maier (125) and Enzo Zagari (285). [Read More...]

SPENCERPORT RANGERS CHAMPIONS OF THE 2009 HILTON TOURNAMENT

The Rangers win the Hilton Tournament, outdistancing second place Fairport 258-181.

The Rangers finished with eight finalists and five champions. Winning individual titles for the first time this season were Scott Barrett (103), Steven Maier (125), Nick Baxter (171) and Enzo Zagari (285). Also taking first place (second of the season) was Paul Morabito (145).

SPENCERPORT RANGERS CHAMPIONS OF THE 2009 UNION ENDICOTT DUALS

The Rangers traveled to Union Endicott January 3rd as the two-time defending champions and the current Number 1 Ranked Large School Team.

The first round the Rangers drew a bye. In the quarterfinals the Rangers defeated Wantagh of Section VIII 36-20. In the semifinals the Rangers faced Section IV Waverly, winning that match up 43-18. TEIKE-BERNABI TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS

Spencerport wins the team title at the Teike-Bernabi Tournament. Paul Glover (215) wins his second title of the year. The Rangers outdistance second place Shenendehowa 206.5 to 147. [Read More...]

JAMESTOWN TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS

The Rangers win the Jamestown Tournament Team title by outdistancing second place Niagara Wheatfield (NY - Section VI) 225 to 199. The Rangers had four finalists: Paul Morabito, John Troinia, Paul Glover and Enzo Zagari.
